Skate Programming
YMCA HQ designs and implements a range of skate-related programs for local councils and schools across Western Australia.
Programs are specifically designed to suit individual council requirements, as well as the interests and needs of the participants. YMCA HQ works closely with the interested party to develop the most appropriate skate program, with the scope and resources to cater for almost any situation or facility.
Most of YMCA HQ’s skate programs are packaged under the banner of Y Skate!, our new skate workshop program.
The four primary types of skate programs YMCA HQ specialises in organising are as follows:
Workshops can be designed to provide for beginner, intermediate and advanced skaters. These workshops are able to be run at existing skate facilities, or HQ’s portable skate equipment can be erected on any open flat surface such as a basketball or tennis court. Skateboards and protective equipment including helmets, kneepads and wristguards are available for a fee.
Accredited skate coaches can be also provided, running and overseeing the event. All our skate coaches are first aid trained, creating a safe and healthy learning environment.
YMCA HQ offers fully organised skateboarding competitions for all youth skill levels. Skateboarding competitions can be a great way to engage local youth in a healthy and productive activity. YMCA HQ can work with any council criteria or ideas, creating a competition that fits exactly around existing facilities and budgets. Depending on what is desired, HQ can arrange competition judges, MCs, posters, prizes and administrative staff.
HQ can also hire out PA systems and skateboarding equipment to facilitate a smooth, professionally-run event.
YMCA HQ has a variety of holiday options, specifically catered for individual needs and the target market of the interested party.
If a participation skate activity is beyond the scope of what’s needed, YMCA HQ also organises demonstration skate events.
To discuss any of these workshop options, please contact Joana or Stephen
