Skate Facts and Stats
Skateboarding is an exciting, extraordinary activity that is also a genuine sport. The fact that it was considered for inclusion in the Olympic Games, an initiative that has since fallen through, demonstrates its legitimacy in the world of sport. However, skateboarding garners a lot of questions from the greater community who don’t fully understand it. The following information attempts to scratch the surface with regard to the basics of skateboarding.
Documents:
Skatepark Etiquette Document
- Kids just starting out with skating and not quite certain how to handle themselves in a skate park? This document is designed to document some of the many unwritten rules of a skate park. Provides a guide to new users and is an interesting read for parents taking young children to skate parks.
Just how Dangerous is Skateboarding? - Document discusses the risks associated with skateboarding and how to prevent injuries.
Skate Park Consultation Committee - Provide information and guidance to local councils who have skate facilities or are considering building one. Please contact Joana for further information.
